PRESS RELEASE:

Western White House Easter Egg Roll for our troops and their families.

The White House tradition of children playing and having fun on the South Lawn at the Easter Egg Roll dates back to 1878 when President Rutherford B. Hayes offered the lush lawn to children after Congress passed a law forbidding the yearly activity on the Capitol grounds.

We are beginning a new tradition this year in the Central Texas hometown of President George W. Bush to honor him and our military. The Western White House Easter Egg Roll will be held Saturday, April 15, 2006 from 10am- 4pm at Tonkawa Park in Crawford, Texas. All activities will be free for military families to show our appreciation for the sacrifices they make for our country.

Texas Federation of Republican Women from across the state have donated funds, their time and talents to provide a fun day for military families from Ft Hood and the Waco area. Military ID’s must be shown at the gate for admittance. Parking available at the Crawford football field and the adjacent Rodeo Arena.

There will be free food, lots of games, prizes, thousands of Easter eggs for the hunt and entertainment on stage throughout the day.

Food catered and donated by Donald Citrano owner of The Coffee Shop Cafe in McGregor will be served at 11:00 am (Press is welcome). Other major donors: Texas Federation of Republican Women clubs from all across Texas, Blue Bell, Grassfire.org, McGraw-Hill Publishers, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas and God Bless Fort Benning who is bringing a 24 X 36 foot flag composed with the art of 900 military children who’s family members are serving overseas.

There will be 4 President's Volunteer Service Awards presented to Crawford-Texas.org outstanding volunteers from 2005 at 3:15. The egg hunt will begin at 3:30.

While Cindy Sheehan and her band of followers are right down the road calling for the impeachment of our president, we will have a park full of heroes and Texas Republican Women that stand behind President Bush, our soldiers and their mission.

Media please be sure to bring your press identification for admittance

Get Well cards for wounded soldiers at Walter Reed Army Medical Center

I will be in DC for a while the end of April and am collecting get well cards with personal messages of thanks and support which I will deliver to wounded soldiers recovering at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington. DC on April 28, 2006. I will then join the protest against Code Pink's protest in front of the hospital. This is something I have wanted to do since finding out about it last August. It is absolutely the sickest thing that I have ever heard of... protesting the war at the feet of our heroes hospital beds. Unbelievable! I want to go to let them know that there are Americans that support them and their bravery!

Code Pink is one of the radical groups behind Cindy Sheehan, who's organizers also traveled to Iraq to donate $600,000 to terrorists who are plotting against our US soldiers.

I learned of the liberal anti-war activist group Code Pink's vigils every Friday evening at the front gates of Walter Reed while organizing the Pro-Troops, Pro-Bush ditch in Crawford opposing Cindy Sheehan and the Code Pink group last August. The protesters hold signs at the hospital that read "Maimed for a Lie" and "Enlist here to die for Halliburton." Among the props used by the protesters are mock caskets, lined up on the sidewalk to represent the death toll in Iraq.

Code Pink has disrupted the Republican Nation Convention in New York by planting a person with Impeach Bush signs brought out during his acceptance speech along with their group protesting with 'pink slips,'  undergarments symbolizing their effort for impeaching Bush, outside Madison Square Garden. We also saw try to carry out the same sort of disruption as the President gave his Inaugural speech in 2005.

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO PARTICIPATE, PLEASE BRING GET WELL CARDS (INCLUDING YOUR SIGNED NOTES OF GRATITUDE) IN UNSEALED ENVELOPES TO THE EASTER EGG ROLL OR MAIL THEM TO BE RECEIVED BY APRIL 19th 2006 TO:
